I have to admit it, the Autumnal season brings in some of my absolute favourite styles. Neutral and beige tones are all the rage and I actually like having little colour in my wardrobe. I try and fill my wardrobe with many staple pieces that are easy to re-wear and restyle into so many different outfits. Although I am trying to reach for more high quality basics, being a student doesn’t always allow me to invest in the top picecs. I do however think I’ve picked up some great quality pieces I know will last me a few years.
Trench coats have been a staple autumnal piece for the last few seasons and I must admit until this year they’ve nearly really been something I reach for. Being only 5’1 long lined coats aren’t something I typically reach for. I often worry I look like I’m drowning in fabric, wearing something noticeably far too long. This season I want to push my comfort zone and wear pieces I’ve always wanted to but been a tad worried they wouldn’t suit me. This trench is one of those and I’m so glad i did. I would definitely recommend investing in a high quality trench so you can wear it year on year. The one I’m wearing is from Stradviarus (£50) and is amazing quality for the price. I’ll be living in this for the next few months.
& Other Stories £79 in the sale!
When I said that my wardobe loses all colour, I really meant it. I love beiges this seasons, and I think I probably have a pieces of every shade of brown imaginable!
I normally live in jeans but after spotting these cream flares, I think I’ve found my new favourite trousers. Again a neutral colour makes them so easy to style, I paired them with a matching bucket hat which makes me seem way cooler than I really am! I can guarantee you, I’ll probably stain them at some point; my bets are on spaghetti or pints.
After the H&M x Kangol collection dropped I knew I had to get a piece. This oversized high neck jumper was my favourite from the collection and for £19.99 I thought it was an absolute steal. It keeps popping in and out of stock online, but there was loads in my local store. Whilst the weather is mild, I love styling oversized jumpers with skirts and an all black combo is an easy go to. I’ve got my eyes on a few other pieces from the collection. I absolutely love the bucket hat, shacket and oversized tee. I would have it all if I could.
Jacket season is upon us and I couldn’t be happier. My two favourite pieces are *shock* brown, aka the perfect colour to style with anything this autumn. The faux leather blazer adds that little something extra to my outfit, for a classy look. The second jacket has to be my favourite, puff sleeves are everything at the moment and River Island have killed it with this piece. I love styling this belted or loose with a pair of cycling shorts, but equally would look great with a pair of jeans or leggings.
A lightweight jacket is perfect for this time of year, not too hot and bulky before we bring out the chunky coats for the winter. I was desperate to get my hands on a shacket and after some serious hunting I managed to pick this one up from H&M. It’s currently out of stock online, but I’ve made a small list of my other favourite alternatives. I may have to get another to add to the collection…
