The trends that are filling my wardrobe

Basics have to be the most underrated fashion item. I am a sucker for something simple that I can wear over and over again.  Learning about the serious impact fast fashion has on the environment and with the combination of being a student. My precious pennies are often spent elsewhere.

High neck tops

A few months ago I actually wouldn’t dream of wearing anything high necked. I found it constricting and they really aggravated me. A little weird I know but I’m sure there’s someone out there who gets it. However, now I can’t get enough of them and I want one in every shade possible. High neck tops, jumpers and dresses. I’m officially converted to the trend.

Layered necklaces

One that complements the high neck trend so well is layered necklaces. Dainty jewellery is something I’ve always been a fan of. I like things simple, nothing too much but something that adds that sparkle to the outfit. I have always been a silver girl but recently I’ve been converted to the gold trend. Many high street shops are absolutely killing it with the cute dainty jewellery right now.  A few of my favourites include Primark, Topshop and H&M.

Leopard accessories

I feel like I’m kind of cheating with this one. Is leopard print a basic? I mean it might as well be the amount it’s in my wardrobe. I love that leopard print is making a come back, even though it gives me horrible flashbacks to my 13 year old self who constantly wore leopard leggings. But give me all the bags and belts I am all about it.As much as I love the bold accessories transforming my look, I don’t quite brave wearing it as a statement outfit.

Chunky Trainers

As much as everyone hates the FILA dinostomper trend, I am so on board with a good chunky trainer. I only have the one pair right now and that’s the nike air max 95. You either love them or hate them. I was a little on the fence on whether I should by them, but god am I glad I did. This pair is little a jazzy with a pop of colour which means they don’t quite go with everything. Wearing these with a basic outfit just transforms it into that little bit something.I’m looking to get a more basic pair, I’m thinking the new adidas falcons in the white with a touch of colour.

Let me know what trends you’ve been loving at the moment.
