Current Makeup Favs

Until the last week the weather here in the UK has been hot hot hot. This has been a chance for me to try out some different products and embrace a more of a natural look. There nothing I love more than letting my skin have a chance to breath and look fresh in the sun. However we are now back to the good English summer of rain, but this doesn’t mean I’m ditching my light makeup quite yet.

I don’t know if it’s just me but my skin tends to get so much better in summer. I have a little bit of a tan with a slight summer glow and a thick layer of foundation is the last thing I want to wear. To give myself a natural base I love a bit of moisturiser. This mario badescu oil free moisturiser is absolutely perfect. It has SPF in so I don’t have to worry about my little burnt red nose making an appearance.  The oil free avoids me looking like a oily sweaty mess and just leads to a healthy glow to my drier areas. To give myself a bit of coverage the Joan Collins first base foundation is my best friend. I’ve written about it before here but it’s honestly absolutely perfect for this time of year. It’s so lightweight but gives me the coverage I need to feel comfortable in my skin.

Summer is all about having that perfect glow and I’ve found the highlighter of dreams.  I’ve never used any Jouer products until now but god has this highlighter converted me. The pigmentation is absolutely incredible and you honestly only need the smallest amount. The shade I use is Skinny Dip, I’ve always been a more pinky toned highlighter kinda girl but this golden one has changed my life. It gives me a golden bronzed look in the sun so pale girls this may not be the one for you, but there are so many other shades you could try. To add even more of a glow I apply the Pixi liquid illuminator glow booster underneath just after I’ve applied my foundation. Sometimes I just use this if I’m after a really natural glow but normally I’m all about an intense highlighter so adding this under the Jouer highlighter is a match made in heaven.

To complete a bronzy summer glow a warm bronzer is essential.  The rimmel natural bronzer is my summer essential. It is warm toned which I know some people absolutely hate but for me it tends to make me look soooo tanned. (& I need all the help I can get)

Eyeliner isn’t something I always go for especially if I’m pushing for more of a natural look. But for a night look an eyeliner is often essential. The Flawless eyeliner by flawless lashes by Loretta is insane for a simple look. The nib is so thin which makes it super easy just to line the lashes or add a wing if you want to. It’s such a deep black and will honestly last all night long.

Charlotte Tilbury have been my favourtie eyeshadow brand for god knows how long now. The palette The Dolce Vita has been a staple in my makeup back since I first got it. The pigmentation is insane and I love the small glitter pieces in this shadow making it look stunning and intense.

Brows are something that I ALWAYS need on. I don’t know what it is but having my brows on makes me feel like I’ve somewhat got my life together.  I’m always a natural brow look girl and Soap and Glory Brow Archery kills it every time.

I hope you’ve all had a lovely summer and find a favourite in one of these products.
